Innsbruck, Sept. 6/7, 2007

The Canada Center of the University of Innsbruck and CenterAustria at the University of New Orleans are planning for a two-day interdisciplinary symposium in Innsbruck on 6 and 7 September 2007 within the context of the World Congress of Romance Languages.

The goal is to compare Louisiana Cajun and Canadian Acadian history, language, literature, popular culture (music and cuisine), and film and their respective roots in old world French culture. Experts from North America and Europe will be invited to explore the rich (trans-)Atlantic ties of French culture and language in North America and its histories.
