For more than 20 years, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Research on the Consequences of War has maintained a close cooperation with the Austrian Marshall Plan Center for European Studies. Numerous joint books, Harvard Cold War Studies, New Perspectives on Austrians and World War II and The Prague Spring and the Warsaw Pact Invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 based on joint research projects, including The Vienna Summit 1961, and conferences have been published to date.

The publications of the English versions, which are published by New Orleans University Press, have now been discussed. One concerns Austria and the Cold War, a monograph by Peter Ruggenthaler, Deputy Director and Program Line Director at the Institute and Günter Bischof, published in 2022. The second is the award-winning dissertation by Anna Graf-Steiner, Key Researcher at BIK, entitled Brückenbauer im Kalten Krieg.
